+One of the stacks (8) doesn't have any of the bad focus ones. I pulled up the unconvolved and one of it's warps.  Some problems:

+ * not visible, but the edge of the skycell you can tell that the astrometry isn't perfect. This effect is not apparent on stack_id = 6. 
+ * the convolved fits file for stack_id = 8 looks just as bad as for the one with bad focus. Something weird is happening, and it is not related to focus.
