| | 24 | * Studied WW and WS diffs sent to MOPS. After puzzling on the variance for some time, realized that the convolution direction on the WS diff was not correct. This led to an investigation of the convolution direction on the WW images, with the conclusion that the ppSub configuration was not doing what was assumed. A test of this (shown at http://svn.pan-starrs.ifa.hawaii.edu/trac/ipp/wiki/MOPS_diff_false_positives) illustrates that correctly setting the convolution direction results in better diffs. This likely also explains the odd jump in detection limits between the WW and WS diffs. Continuing tests on this topic, but the configuration files have been changed to do diff convolutions in the directions we assumed they had been done. |
