    1717Applying the MASKTESTs appears to yield a marked improvement over the previous masks, removing a number of camera feature sources of false positives.  The mask fraction is also only increased a small amount over the old masks (0.1957 static mask fraction for test30, compared to 0.1948 for test21: the reference, and 0.2380 for the previous poorly constructed MASKTESTs).

    19 Using this Test 30 dataset, we can compare these false positive reduction results against an alternate set of cuts.  The proposed cuts for retaining a detection as likely real are: IS_BAD = 0, PSF_QF > 0.85 (alternate: PSF_QF > 0.5), and a 5-sigma significance.  The following table compares these cuts against those above:
